On October 18th, an official White Flag award ceremony was held at the Ghajn Tuffieha Bay (Martinique Riviera) as it was cleaned from the plastic and other non–degradable waste. White Flag is the world's unique and most prestigious symbol which is given and stands for the physical extraction of plastic and other non–degradable waste by White Flag diving inspectors. Followed by the global campaign „Raise the Flag for the Oceans“ launched on October 5th by H.E. Marie – Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, along with the certification of the Golden Bay beach, the White Flag continued with taking the concrete measures in protection and preservation of the beaches of Malta, with the ultimate target of making Malta the world's first plastic–free ocean country. The Riviera Bay will be monitored and cleaned on a regular basis, financed by LeoVegas Gaming, White Flag's Ocean Guardian. Mr. Ramm – Ericson was awarded The White Flag by Ms. Spiteri, which was risen above the Riviera, as a proof that concrete measures were taken into making this specific marine area a certified one, safe for humans and aquatic life.
