World Aqua Day

3rd World Aqua day is the biggest organized underwater cleanup in the world by divers. There were over 50 countries in the previous year’s Aqua Day participating in the cleanup. This year the goal is to have over 60 countries participating in this project and the goal to remove over 50 tons of waste (such as plastics and other types of manmade waste) from aquatic ecosystems. The opening ceremony will take place in Oslo, Norway, and the ceremony will officially be opened by Prince Albert ll of Monaco. Official response from Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon to participate in the opening ceremony, is still awaited. In the case of positive response from the Norwegian Crown Prince, he will be presented with the ecological torch as a symbol of the host state.
